El inicio de año trae consigo la llegada de premiaciones para la pantalla chica y grande. En esta ocasión los Globos de Oro que se llevaron a cabo en Beverly Hills el domingo abren la espera y con eso la especulación sobre futuros ganadores en ceremonias que reconocen lo mejor del séptimo arte.

En una ceremonia que tuvo como presentador a Jimmy Fallon, estrella del programa The Tonight Show en Estados Unidos, se recordó a las fallecidas Carrie Fisher y a su madre, Debbie Reynolds. Meryl Steep dio un discurso contra Trump y otros actores como Hugh Laurie hicieron bromas contra el futuro presidente de Estados Unidos y otro momento que será siempre recordado: un beso entre los actores Ryan Reynolds y Andrew Garfield.
